Today’s Dietitian
Vol. 26 No. 7 P. 6

Hello, readers!

It’s a privilege to officially introduce myself to all of you. I’m Heather Davis, the new editor of Today’s Dietitian (TD). I am thrilled and honored to step into this role and begin this journey with you. Judith Riddle’s dedication to maintaining the high editorial standards of TD over her many years enabled our nutrition community to come together, learn from one another, stay on the cutting edge, and grow as professionals. As a dietitian and long-time enthusiast of TD’s leadership in nutrition and dietetics educational content, I’m eager to contribute to its evolution alongside each of you.

In the coming months, I hope to learn more about you, including how you’d like to see our publication grow into the future and how TD can best aid your career and knowledge development within this dynamic modern landscape.

As I learn more about you, I’m also happy to share a little more about me.

Though I grew up living in many different parts of the country, I call the Southwest home. I’m an RD with a master’s degree in nutrition science and undergraduate degrees in microbiology and philosophy. My professional background includes a neuroendocrine clinical specialty, nutrition research and education, and technical writing and editing. I also enjoy making and listening to music, learning about sustainability and homesteading, and staying active outdoors with my dogs, horses, friends, and family.

Before deciding to become a dietitian many years ago, I was drawn to the exciting science of nutrition and deeply moved by the work of other dietitians who offered a compelling glimpse of what was possible in this fascinating field. Throughout my career, finding ways to support my colleagues has been at the heart of what matters most to me. In this new role, I extend that passion in an effort to support you in every way I can.

Cheers to a future together where we continue to inspire one another, learn from one another, and positively transform our surrounding communities through the power of food and nutrition!
