This continuing education course reviews the diagnostic criteria and health risks associated with prediabetes. It also examines the current research on treatment and prevention strategies including diet interventions, lifestyle modifications, dietary supplements, and prescription medications. In addition, RDs’ important role in educating patients with prediabetes is highlighted.

Eating Disorders in Men
This continuing education course examines the current body of knowledge about adolescent and adult males with eating disorders (EDs). Gender differences in etiology, risk factors, and presentation of food, exercise, and body dissatisfaction are highlighted. Special attention is given to the muscularity-driven behaviors prevalent in the male ED population. The course evaluates the effectiveness of current ED diagnostic criteria and assessment tools in capturing EDs in males. Gender-sensitive counseling strategies are also covered. Finally, recommendations are made for ED prevention and awareness, as well as for future research, to increase positive outcomes in this population.

The Health Benefits of Grapes
This continuing education course explores components of grapes that may be beneficial to health, evaluates the current evidence for consuming grapes to treat or prevent various medical conditions, provides appropriate strategies for incorporating grapes into daily intake, and examines possible side effects and interactions with common medications.

The Physical and Emotional Health Benefits of Modest Weight Loss
This continuing education course reviews research supporting the claim that a modest weight loss can improve both the physical and emotional comorbidities associated with overweight/obesity. Specific disease states are addressed along with the significance of a 5% to 10% weight loss. Lifestyle interventions are compared and long-term outcomes and weight maintenance strategies are discussed.
